About the project:
We were subcontracted by another agency to help with this project. The Mobility.E Lighthouse is a collaboration and networking platform of projects to keep the European industry ahead of the global competition.
Usually, our Drupal workflow is to create the front end based on the design, following Drupal's default markup for menus, blocks etc. But in this case, we already had the front end provided to us, and it was done in another framework. We needed to plug it in and make it work, which we did. It was an interesting approach, not without it's challenges, but we managed to do it.
The challenge was to change the default markup of Drupal's core elements to match the markup of the front end. The concept sounds easy enough, but when you get into it you realize the main slider has been implemented as part of the menu wrapper. In Drupal those are different logical entities so we had to get creative.
At the end, the approach cut the development process time in half, but this was a micro project.
